Abstract :
A new structure for a magnetic passive damper is described that provides high efficiency damping thanks to variations of reluctance. Its operating conditions are determined by analysing its frequency range and its axial behaviour. By using a 2D finite element program, its damping coefficient is calculated. Compared to a traditional damper, the system proposed is much more efficient
