Abstract
This paper describes the theoretical design of a pattern-recognition system which could be used in automating bonding of hybrid-integrated circuits. Charge-coupled device (CCD) discrete analog processors are described in the context of their employment in the decision-making logic of the system. Comparisons are made between an all-digital and discrete analog implementation.
