            Abstract :
We present AC-, DC-susceptibility and magnetization measurements of the RNi4B series from which we determine the paramagnetic properties of RNi4B (R=Y, La, Ce). The ferromagnetic order of RNi4B (R=magnetic rare earth) is similar to those of the RNi 5 series with the exception of SmNi4B and TbNi4B where for the former the highest ordering temperature in this series (39 K) together with a spin reorientation at 31.7 K occurs
