Abstract :
The authors discuss the effects of frequency offset between the receiver and transmitter clocks in fractionally spaced equalisation. In particular, some design criteria are proposed to compensate for such impairment. The analysis developed is confirmed by numerical simulations performed on a fractionally spaced equaliser for a hard disc read channel.
