Abstract :
An explanation is presented of a vacuum-tube phase-control circuit of the RC type. It is shown that the effective phase angle between the plate- and grid-to-cathode voltages is influenced by the direct rectified current flowing through the control vacuum tube. The effect of the thyratron grid resistance on the stability of operation is discussed. Curves are given to illustrate the degree of control by various types of tubes.
