Abstract :
The paper analyzes the input-impedance components of a grounded emitter transistor amplifier having a tuned circuit load which presents a mismatch to the transistor output impedance. This loading of the transistor permits operation of synchronoulsy tuned amplifiers without necessity for neutralization, thus enabling easier mass production with little sacrifice in circuit amplification. A simple design procedure is given, and while the analysis is particularly applicable to IF amplifiers employing either single or double tuned circuits, the same principles can be applied in general to tuned RF amplifiers. Variation of the input-impedance components with the AGC action is also given.
