Abstract :
The development of an ultra-high-frequency converter unit is described. This unit is used in conjunction with a General Electric frequency-modulation station monitor to measure the characteristics of frequency-modulation transmitters operating in the 260- to 350-megacycle frequency range. Particular emphasis is placed upon a discussion of the variable inductance-tuning elements which were developed for use in the ultra-high-frequency mixing stage of the converter unit.
