Abstract :
A timing pulse generator that extracts the first pulse of a packet and uses it in a pattern-matching optical label processor is proposed. The label processor is demonstrated in a 1×2 optical packet switching system. The packet switching system operation was polarisation independent for 10 Gbit/s packets.
