Abstract :
Two types of aluminium stabilized superconducting cables, soldered and pressed, were investigated. A description is given of cables manufactured from multifilamentary NbTi/Cu wires in high-purity aluminium or a copper-clad aluminium matrix with a cross section of 4×9 and 4.6×37 mm2. The dependence of critical current and quench current for two cable samples using a superconducting transformer method was studied. The dependences of contact resistance on the superconductor-aluminium matrix interface on transport current and magnetic field from 0 to 3 T were also studied
