Abstract
A new nonresonant method for measuring the resonance linewidth ¿H of ferrite single-crystal spheres is presented. It is based on the use of a phase-sensitive homodyne system. The analytical description of this method uses the scattering matrix description of a uniform waveguide contained in a ferrite sphere. The measurement system and a number of measurement variants have been discussed. The method makes it possible to measure ¿H values from several tenths up to over 20 Oe, with the microwave signal below 1 ¿W.
