Abstract :
A systolic array for the absolute moment block truncation coding (AMBTC) of images is developed. First, it recursively computes the value of sample mean for a block. Moreover, the bit plane and the higher mean of the block are generated recursively. The proposed architecture is suitable for implementation in VLSI form
