Abstract :
Frequency-hopped multiple-access communication systems employing Reed-Solomon (RS) coded M-ary FSK signalling is considered on a Rayleigh fading channel. The authors examine the optimal modulation alphabet size that maximises the average number of successfully transmitted information bits per dimension in connection with the channel traffic, the signal-to-noise ratio, and the required bit error probability
