Abstract
Significant developments during 1989 are reviewed. Among them are: chips that passed the one-million transistor mark; logic and memory on one chip; advances in dynamic RAMs; BiCMOS static RAMs with increased speed and density; digital and analog functions on one chip; and gains due to packaging.<>
