Abstract :
Significant weaknesses in a recently proposed chaotic based communication technique are reported. It is shown that radial basis functions may be used to obtain a fit to a chaotic signal which masks user information and this may then be used to extract the hidden signal for the purpose of eavesdropping. The results obtained are extremely accurate and obtained with minimal signal processing showing that considerable refinement is necessary before chaotic schemes are usable in the secure environment for which they have been proposed
