Abstract :
Self-phase modulation due to fibre nonlinearity can significant composite second order distortion in modulated AM-SCM video systems. However, it is shown that this can be minimised by phase modulating the optical carrier. Analytic expressions are derived which are in good agreement with numerical simulations
