Abstract
The experimental technique used for internal beam ion phase measurements on the Birmingham cyclotron is described. Ion phase measurements were carried out by measuring the target current waveform of a screened two-electrode target with an equipment based on a sampling technique, having a resolution of 1.5 m¿sec and a sensitivity of 5 ¿a/cm deflection. The target current waveform was displayed on a cathode-ray-tube screen against the sine of the cyclotron RF phase or in polar coordinates.
