Abstract :
This paper proposes a nine level multilevel inverter with DC link switches. Single carrier method is the control strategy used here. The switching sequence to balance the capacitor voltage is also considered. Compared to the exsisting ninelevel multilevel inverter it requires less number of DC sources. The proposed multilevel inverter is compared with five level inverter. The ninelevel inverter produce less distorted waveform compared to fivelevel multilevel inverter. So as the number of level increases harmonic content reduces.
