CAM-I-its history, activities and achievements

CAM-I´s history goes back to the early 1960s when numerical control was first utilised in industry. Originating from the aerospace industries, a co-operative research and development programme called the APT Long Range Programme for programming numerically controlled machine tools was set up and supported by many major corporations in the US and Europe. In the APT Long Range Programme, activity was managed administratively and conducted technically by the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute.
