Abstract
The designer of an electrical installation will take into account the nature of the electrical supply to which his design is to be connected, so that the resultant system is safe. This article draws attention to the potential dangers of employing earth terminals provided to consumers with overhead LV supplies, and suggests that, for shock protection, an RCD may represent a safer alternative.<>
