Abstract
The author argues that the structure of employment in Britain is changing for good. The days of jobs for life with 30 years in the same company and a gold watch at the end of it are over. He describes how, instead, managers are having to cope with changing work patterns and, chameleon-like, are having to adjust with the times in order to survive.<>
