Abstract
We demonstrate a highly efficient and widely tunable, bifunctional laser operated at both infrared and self-frequency-doubling (SFD) based on Yb:GdYAB crystal. An optical conversion efficiency of 67.9% and a slope efficiency of 86% at 1048 nm have been obtained. A broad tunability of 67 nm between 1009 and 1076 nm has also been achieved. Furthermore, an efficient and compact SFD green laser has been demonstrated with an output power of 488 mW at 524 nm, corresponding to a diode-to-green optical conversion efficiency of 18.6%.
