Abstract :
A contour plot of the electric field distribution formed between the plates of a 90¿¿ corner reflector illuminated by a normally incident uniform plane wave is computed by the method of moments. From this plot, the positions of any array of half-wave dipoles to produce an antenna with an improved power grain are found; the example taken shows an improvement of 2-4 dB. The new antenna is also compared favourably with a curtain array backed by an infinite reflecting sheet.
