Abstract :
Previously reported experimental results obtained by clocked step-recovery diode-pulse regenerators are reviewed and analysed. Gain in both charge and spectral bandwidth is shown to contribute to the resulting pulse-amplitude amplification and power gain. Numerical values related to a bit rate of 1 Gbit/s are presented.
