Abstract :
Intermittent reflection from an annular mirror surrounding the imaging lens is proposed as a method of providing feedback in a resonant fibre optical scanner. A phase locked loop and a proportional controller can then be used to adjust the drive frequency and amplitude. The system is demonstrated using a piezoelectrically actuated dual numerical aperture confocal resonant fibre scanner.
