Abstract
We show that a solitary surface wave can exist at the boundary between a plasma and a dielectric, due to a balance between the nonlinear surface charge terms and the dispersive terms which here are caused by the presence of a high-frequency incident electromagnetic wave. The solitary wave propagation velocity, which depends on the intensity of the incident field, is also calculated.
