Abstract
We demonstrate an eight-channel hyperfine wavelength demultiplexer at 1.55 μm using a virtually imaged phased-array spectral disperser, with channel spacings of /spl sim/3 GHz (24 pm) and -3-dB channel bandwidths of /spl sim/0.75 GHz (6 pm). We achieve adjacent channel isolations /spl ges/23 dB and nonadjacent channel isolations /spl ges/30 dB. We also present the first theoretical analysis.
