Abstract :
This article analyses the electrical principles involved in lowvoltage (600/1000 V) power cables, many of which are applicable to power cables of higher voltages as well as wiring cables. Following a look at theoretical aspects, the article focuses on practical cable selection, mainly based on the author´s experience in the Gulf countries of the Middle East
