Abstract
This paper presents a new model of asynchronous machines. This model allows one to take into account unbalanced stator situations which can be produced by stator faults like short circuits in windings. A mathematical transformation is defined and applied to the classical abc model equations. All parameters which affect this new model can be known online. This makes the model very useful for control algorithms and fault detection and isolation algorithms. The model is checked by comparing simulation data with actual data obtained from laboratory experiments.
