Abstract
A real-time microprocessor based information processing system to translate ink images of the braille code is described. This direct translation reading aid presents a tactile facsmile of the braille code to the reader´s finger via a mechanical piezoelectrically activated display. This device will allow the reader to scan printed braille, called inkbraille, with one hand.
