Abstract
The TE111 resonance has been addressed in an asymmetric "Crawford-style" transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cell using two half- wave slots cut into the septum. Surface currents generated on the septum due to the resonance are at right angles to the TEM cell axis. Appropriately sized resistors placed at the midpoint of the slots load these cross-axial septum currents. The result was a near 20-dB decrease in the total electric field inside the TEM cell at the TE111 resonance frequency.
