Abstract :
The rain depolarisation observations of the CS-2 beacon signal indicate that the mean crosspolarised phase is closely related to approximate specific attenuation per unit rainfall rate. The raindrop size distribution is shown to be a dominant factor in determining residual differential attenuation and possible improvement of depolarisation cancellation.
