Abstract :
A high-Tc superconducting (HTS) magnetic levitation (Maglev) system consisted of bulk superconductors and T-shaped permanent magnet single-guideway is investigated for HTS Maglev vehicle. Using finite-element analysis method, magnetic field distribution and characteristics of T-shaped permanent magnetic guideway (PMG) are analysed. The results show that T-shaped PMG produces not only a strong periodic magnetic profile in its upper space but also a strong symmetrical magnetic field in its lateral spaces. Moreover, the proposed T-shaped PMG is evaluated for whether it has good performance as a non-contact guideway for this system. The results show that the system with T-shaped PMG can generate large guidance force and good stability which are helpful for the further HTS Maglev vehicle.
