Abstract
The techniques of electrical communication are finding an increasing number of novel and useful applications and some of these applications are in fields far removed from radio and wire operations. Their significance is analytically appraised in the following guest editorial, which is based on a more extensive article which appeared in December, 1945, issue of Engineer Experiment Station News, published by The Ohio State University, Ohio, USA. A few examples of the more recent scientific developments are illustrative of the diversity of fields of application for the talents of the research man in electronics.
