Abstract :
The author comments on a paper by R. Barnes and K.T. Wong (see ibid., vol.138, no.2, p. 41-50, 1991) on the power supply for the Channel Tunnel rail link. Based on experience gained by Queensland Railways regarding negative phase sequences and harmonics, the author discusses some of the points raised by Barnes and Wong.
