Abstract :
This latest text by Professor Papoulis dealing with Fourier transforms and linear systeims os rganized into three parts, each having its own unique character. Part One, ??Signals, Systems and Transforms,?? comes closest to the conventional, undergraduate-level treatment of linear systems giving approximately equal, but separate, attention to discrete-time and continuous-time versions of the topics. After an introductory chapter on the basics of both kinds of signalsand systems, there follows a chapter on z-transforms, then a chapter on Fourier analysis which concludes with a case study discussion relating Fourier integrals, Part Two is entitle??Selelected Topics??. It is a collection of various results, some of which are the most interesting in the entire text, but primarily of mathematical nature.
