Abstract :
The diffraction theory of Stratton and Chu is applied to a calculation of the vertical polar diagram and the gain of a parabolic cylindrical antenna. This antenna is fed by a line source having a known energy distribution and polarization. A numerical calculation for a particular profile is carried out, and the results are compared with those obtained experimentally. Satisfactory agreement between these results is found.
