Abstract :
A solution for dynamically enhancing the modulation depth of optically carried microwave signals is proposed. It is based on stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in optical fibres for depletion of the carrier, leaving the modulation sidebands unchanged. Efficient carrier depletion, up to 100% modulation depth, is achieved.
