Abstract :
The power spectrum of the surface EMG signal is known to undergo a compression towards the lower frequencies during sustained muscle contractions. The median frequency appears to be the preferred parameter to monitor this compression. This paper describes a simple circuit which can provide an estimate of the median frequency.
