Abstract :
The paper proposes a method of scaling the switched reluctance motor (SRM) in its linear unaligned position. A developed model of the SRM is obtained by using a conformal transformation. It is of near-constant geometrical dimensions, irrespective of the geometrical dimensions of the actual SRM. Information regarding the SRM nonlinear behaviour in its aligned position could also be achieved by applying this model. The analysis and the experimental results refer to a SRM with six stator, and four rotor teeth. A simple way is found to evaluate the unaligned inductance of the SRM and also to approximate the aligned one. In conclusion, it seems that the larger the circumference of the SRM, the better it is
