Abstract :
The stimulated action potential of a squid giant axon is stored and used as a time dependent input potential during a voltage clamp experiment with this axon. For an optimum system, longitudinal currents are eliminated by guard electrodes and the action potential clamp provides a quantitative measure of this "space clamp."
