Abstract :
A method is developed for to modeling the end region of a generator using a Fourier analysis of the peripheral dimension combined with a finite-element analysis in the axial and radial dimensions. First a magnetostatic analysis is applied to determine the saturation of the iron parts. Then an eddy-current analysis is performed using incremental reluctivities. The results of the eddy-current analysis are used in a conventional axisymmetric thermal analysis
