Abstract :
The integral equation governing the current distribution on two coupled antennas has been solved. The method used is an improvement on the work originally formulated by King and Harrison. As a result of this improvement, the general solution pertaining to the antenna problem reduces to the conventional one obtained from transmission-line theory, when the two antisymmetrically driven antennas are closely coupled to each other. Numerical values of the selfand mutual impedances based upon the present work have been computed. The result is compared with those obtained by Carter based upon the so-called e.m.f. method, assuming a sinusoidal distribution of the currents.
