Abstract :
A model is presented to estimate the diversity gain for two ground stations both looking towards the same geosynchronous satellite. It is based on spatial reduction functions of rain intensity and on the knowledge of the attenuation statistics for one of the two sites. A comparison of the predicted diversity improvement with experimental results shows good agreement.
