Abstract
The authors describe the triggering system for the D0 Experiment at the Tevatron proton-antiproton collider. They first give an overview of the structure of the trigger and data acquisition systems with particular attention to the principal signal paths. The calorimeter trigger is described, and some of the Monte Carlo studies that were done to investigate the trigger performance and determine its design parameters are discussed. The current status of the triggering system is examined
