Abstract
The foundation of teamwork in a large research organization is the effective exchange and dissemination of information regarding technical and administrative matters. Present-day researchers and managers are faced with a tremendous task in making effective use of the information-exchange methods that are available. This paper discusses information exchange and dissemination from the viewpoint of management. Examples of successful information exchange as a management tool are given, as well as examples where inefficient information-exchange methods have been a hindrance to the over-all research program.
