Abstract
Tests representing mechanical and electrical testing that can be performed on fully assembled motors are described. Associated benefits along with the corresponding costs are identified. The tests covered are heat run, performance locked-rotor, speed-torque, no-load-saturation, surge, high-potential, polarization-index, single-phase-rotor, Reed-critical-frequency, hot/cold vibration coastdown-critical, and bearing tests. General guidelines for test procedures are provided
