Abstract :
This letter demonstrates that a gain saturated laser diode amplifier, due to its input/output characteristic, has the effect of reducing signal fluctuation. Bit error rate measurement shows that receiver sensitivity degradation caused by crosstalk light is improved with the amplifier. It also shows that there is an optimum saturation condition at which the sensitivity is efficiently improved.
