Abstract :
Omega is a navigation radio aid having worldwide coverage with good accuracy. By choosing among the phase-difference lines of position, much as with celestial navigation, high and uniform accuracy can be maintained. Omega is introduced by discussing its qualities. Geometry, propagation, lane identification, synchronization, secondary modes of operation, accuracy, receivers, and transmitter stations are covered.<>
