Abstract :
Melvin Gerald Holland (SM??63-F??76), Manager of Marketing and Program Development for the Raytheon Research Division in Waltham, MA, died on December 10,1977, following an automobile accident in Lincoln, MA, USA. Dr. Holland is best known to members of thuel trasonics community for his contributions to thef ield of surface acoustic wave technology in the late sixties and early seventies. A brief summary of the life and works of Dr. Holland are presented.
