Abstract :
We formulate a mathematical model describing the reflected field of an incident planar monochromatic electromagnetic field illuminating a strip of a surface, which separates two different homogeneous isotropic media, and which is periodic corrugated in the incident plane. The exact solution is an integral expression. An approximation of this integral will be given. The intensity of the reflected field has some local maxima with respect to the angular variable. These local maximum intensities will be computed. The spacing of these maxima only depends on the angle of incident, the wavelength of the incident electromagnetic field and the period of corrugation.
